The St. Petersburg Artist Museum and Exhibition Center is the largest collection of realist art in St. Petersburg. Over the 17 years of its history, the museum has collected 4,000 paintings by Soviet and contemporary realist artists. The main exposition presents the most striking works of the Leningrad school of painting, which constitutes the basis of the "Petersburg Artist" collection.
To the right of the permanent exhibition, there is an exhibition space designed for constantly renewed personal and collective exhibitions. Boris Ugarov, Victor Oreshnikov, Victor Reyhet, Anatoly Levitin, Vladimir Tokarev, Nikolay Timkov, Boris Shamanov, Nikolay Latyshenko, Maya Kopytseva, Nikolay Buranov, Valery Metik, Orest Betekhtin, Nikolay Galakhov, Engels Kozlov, Leonid Fokin, Edward Vyrzhakovsky are just some of the artists who have been presented to the public over the past few years.
Weekly concerts, lectures, workshops and artistic meetings welcome visitors to the exhibition halls. More than 25 thousand people visit the museum and exhibition center annually.
We try to introduce the audience to the realistic painting of the Leningrad school. Because it may be in demand, but it is not as widely represented now as contemporary art. I would like to remind you once again about the great skill of these artists, great love for life, their country.
